Steve Pearce is having none of Alex Bregman's Instagram shenanigans.

On Monday, the Houston Astros third baseman posted an Instagram story which showed his team hitting multiple home runs off Red Sox ALCS Game 3 starter Nathan Eovaldi.

Pearce had a strong response for Bregman during batting practice Monday.

"Wow. I don't know why he would do that," he told Rob Bradford of WEEI.com. "We do our talking on the field. If he wants to run his mouth now we'll see who is talking at the end of the series. I don't think he needs to run his mouth. He's one of the best players in the game. If that's his personality, that's his personality. Nothing against the guy. If that's how he has to motivate himself, whatever."

While Bregman's tactics may have elicited strong words from Pearce, they didn't have any effect on Eovaldi, who said he hasn't seen the videos and won't be disturbed by distractions.

Boston's manager Alex Cora, who coached Bregman in Houston before joining the Red Sox, spoke up about his former pupil, however.

"If you need motivation in Game 3 of the ALCS, you better check yourself," Cora explained. "Because you win three more games, you go to the show. And that's what should motivate you. Alex has different ways of motivating himself and whatever. I'll leave it at that."
