The Atlanta Braves have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with manager Brian Snitker, which includes a club option for 2021, according to a team announcement.

Snitker helped lead the Braves to a National League East division title in 2018, and he owns a 221-227 record since taking over as manager in 2016 after Fredi Gonzalez was dismissed.

The soon-to-be 63-year-old has been with the Braves organization for 43 years in multiple capacities.

The 2019 campaign will be Snitker's fourth season as Atlanta's manager.

Alex Anthopoulos, the team's general manager, also announced that pitching coach Chuck Hernandez has been dismissed. All other Braves coaches from 2018 will be back on two-year deals, according to David O'Brien of The Athletic.

Hernandez could remain in the organization in a different capacity, Anthopoulos added, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman.
