The New York Yankees are on their way back to full strength.

Left-hander Aroldis Chapman will be activated from the disabled list Wednesday or Thursday during the Yankees' series against the Boston Red Sox, manager Aaron Boone announced, according to MLB.com's Mandy Bell.

Chapman hasn't pitched since Aug. 21 because of left knee tendinitis. However, he said his knee and arm both feel good, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.

The 30-year-old closer threw a 26-pitch bullpen session on Saturday and followed that up with a 22-pitch simulated game on Monday.

Before hitting the DL, the five-time All-Star was 3-0 with a 2.11 ERA and 31 saves in 47 innings. He also struck out 84 hitters.

It's another piece of good news for the Yankees, who announced earlier Tuesday that slugger Aaron Judge would play in the team's series opener against Boston.
