Cubs' Bryant breaks HR slump 1 pitch after announcer predicts it

Mired in a power outage, Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant hadn't gone deep since July 20. He broke out of that slump Monday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks when he smacked a two-run shot in the top of the eighth.

Television analyst Jim Deshaies knew it was coming, predicting the dry spell would come to an end in the at-bat just before the fateful pitch left reliever Randal Delgado's hand.

A prolonged stint on the disabled list contributed to Bryant's drought, but he'd appeared in 15 games since his activation without hitting one over the fence.
