Noah Syndergaard is hoping his next encounter with throngs of kids goes better than the last.

The New York Mets right-hander will travel with the team to Williamsport, Pa., next week to take part in the Little League Classic, and hopes it doesn't result in another trip to the disabled list with an illness.

"Hopefully none of those kids have hand, foot, and mouth (disease),” Syndergaard joked with joining the ESPN broadcast Monday.

Syndergaard contracted hand, foot, and mouth disease last month after working at a kids camp during the All-Star break. The virus sent Syndergaard to the DL after he complained about feeling weak and having trouble breathing.
