As the Baltimore Orioles' trade discussions approach the finish line, the Los Angeles Dodgers appear to be the leading contender for shortstop Manny Machado, according to a Tuesday report from Jon Heyman of Fancred.

The situation is fluid, however, and the Arizona Diamondbacks are said to have an outside chance at landing the four-time All-Star, as do the Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies.

According to an earlier report, Machado, an impending free agent, is expected to be dealt soon, though he won't be traded before Tuesday night's All-Star Game. He also reportedly won't be moved to the New York Yankees, who had been linked to him in recent weeks.

"The (uncertainty is the) worst. The worst," Machado told reporters, including MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli, ahead of Monday's Home Run Derby. "You just don't know what's going to happen. This game's already hard enough as it is, and to go out there and not know where you're going to be at tomorrow is kind of tough."

Through 96 games in 2018, Machado is hitting .315/.387/.575 (164 OPS+) with 24 home runs, 21 doubles, and eight stolen bases, and ranks 12th among position players with 3.8 WAR.
