The New York Yankees may be one of a handful of teams interested in acquiring shortstop Manny Machado from the Baltimore Orioles, but it appears they're unwilling to give up premium prospects to acquire the four-time All-Star.

New York won't part with any of their top-10 prospects to acquire the 26-year-old, a person with knowledge of the Machado trade situation told George A. King III of the New York Post.

This means budding pitcher Justus Sheffield, whose name has frequently been mentioned in Machado rumors, is likely staying with the Yankees organization.

Infielders Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andujar, along with former top prospect Clint Frazier, are unlikely to be moved either.

The Orioles are motivated to get a Machado deal done soon, and while the Yankees reportedly made a strong offer to Baltimore earlier this week, the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers appear to be the finalists.

Despite all of the trade speculation, Machado has remained focused and entered Sunday's contest against the Texas Rangers with some of the best first-half numbers of his career, hitting .313/.384/.566.

Machado is eligible for free agency at the end of the season.
