Shin-Soo Choo is halfway to the century mark.

The Texas Rangers designated hitter worked a leadoff walk in the first inning of Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles to stretch his consecutive on-base streak to 50 games.

Choo last failed to reach base May 12 when he went 0-for-4. Since then, he's slashed .330/.457/.580 with 12 home runs, 22 doubles, 44 walks, and 50 strikeouts.

It's the 47th time in Major League Baseball history that a player has reached base in 50 straight games and the longest run in the majors since Kevin Millar reached base in 52 consecutive contests while with the Orioles in 2007.

Boston Red Sox legend Ted Williams owns the all-time record with 84 straight games set in 1949, while Joe DiMaggio owns the second-longest streak at 74 games.
