Nationals' Reynolds pitches day after 10-RBI game
In a change of pace from Saturday, the Washington Nationals trailed the Miami Marlins 10-2 in the top of the ninth inning. Nationals skipper Davey Martinez called for third baseman Mark Reynolds to take the mound to get the third and final out.
It worked. On the hill for the first time in his big-league career, he threw three pitches and got Bryan Holaday to hit a ground ball to end the inning.

Reynolds was coming off the game of his career Saturday night when he went 5-for-5 with 10 RBIs. With Sunday's exploits, he became only the third player in MLB history to have a 10-RBI game and a pitching appearance over the course of a career, according to ESPN.
Only Mark Whiten and Scooter Gennett have also accomplished the feat. While Gennett also did both in the same season (last year), Reynolds is the first to do it on consecutive days.
