Carlos Zambrano hasn't pitched in the majors in six years, but apparently, he hasn't given up on an MLB return.

The three-time All-Star, who starred for the Chicago Cubs during his prime, is interested in making a comeback, according to David Kaplan of NBC Sports Chicago.

Zambrano is in "great shape" and pitching in the Mexican League, Kaplan adds, while also mentioning the 37-year-old right-hander "has changed his life" and become more of a religious man.

The former Cy Young candidate developed a reputation for having a short fuse during his 12-year career.

During Zambrano's last season in the bigs in 2012 with the Miami Marlins, the hurler went 7-10 with a 4.49 ERA and 1.50 WHIP.

Over his major-league career, he recorded 132 wins, a 3.66 ERA, and 1,637 strikeouts in 1,959 innings.
