The Los Angeles Angels made a flurry of roster moves Friday, and it was all related to a wide array of injuries currently tormenting the team.

The Angels placed pitchers Nick Tropeano (right shoulder inflammation), Garrett Richards (left hamstring strain), Jim Johnson (lumbar strain), and infielder Zack Cozart (left shoulder subluxation) on the 10-day disabled list.

Tropeano pitched on Sunday, allowing five runs over 4 1/3 innings to the Minnesota Twins, though no injury was apparent when he exited. He's struggled overall in 2018, going 3-4 with a 4.83 ERA over 10 starts.

The oft-injured Richards, on the other hand, was said to be on his way to undergo an MRI after leaving Wednesday's start with hamstring tightness. He's been one of the most reliable pitchers for the Halos this season, posting a 3.42 ERA and 10.27 K/9 through 69 1/3 innings.

Cozart, one of the team's top acquisitions in the offseason, has scuffled out of the gate batting .219/.296/.362 with five home runs in 58 games. Meanwhile, the 34-year-old Johnson has been inconsistent coming out of the bullpen, posting a 3.93 ERA in 33 appearances.

A rough month gets rougher for an Angels squad that already lost Shohei Ohtani to a torn UCL. The Angels have lost four straight - including a three-game sweep at the hands of division-rival Seattle Mariners - and have fallen to third in the AL West, 7 1/2 games out of first entering Friday.

Eduardo Paredes, Akeel Morris, Felix Pena, and Jake Jewell - all right-handed pitchers - were recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake.
