Forget about relievers starting games for a moment, because the Tampa Bay Rays have something else to talk about.

They're calling up top position prospect Willy Adames, the team announced Tuesday.

Adames will be in Tuesday's lineup against the Boston Red Sox if he arrives at Tropicana Field in time, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

Adames is the team's No. 2 overall prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, which also ranks him at No. 22 overall.

The 22-year-old Dominican was hitting .311/.387/.466 with 25 RBIs in 40 games for Triple-A Durham.

In a related move, second baseman Joey Wendle was moved to the paternity list.
