The first-place Atlanta Braves received some welcome news Saturday, announcing that shortstop Dansby Swanson will be reinstated from the 10-day disabled list after he missed 14 games with left wrist inflammation.

Swanson hasn't appeared in a big-league game with the Braves since May 2, but he was participating in a rehab assignment in the minors.

He played in a rehab game for Class-A Rome on Wednesday and participated in a full workout with the Braves on Friday, according to ESPN.

"You can throw good one day, but if you don't recover well the next day, you have to work out some of the kinks," Swanson told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Gabriel Burns on Friday. "It all worked great. I feel good. Obviously a little sore, just my whole body getting back in game shape."

Atlanta relied on Johan Camargo at short during Swanson's absence.

The first overall selection in the 2015 MLB Draft was hitting .289/.336/.430 with eight doubles and 13 RBIs before hitting the DL.

In a corresponding move, the Braves optioned right-hander Matt Wisler to Triple-A to make room for Swanson on the active roster.
