Cubs send Heyward to 7-day concussion DL

The Chicago Cubs placed outfielder Jason Heyward on the 7-day concussion disabled list on Tuesday, retroactive to Monday, the team announced.
Heyward suffered the injury in the 14th inning of Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He crashed into the right-field wall trying to catch what wound up being a walk-off home run by Cardinals outfielder Dexter Fowler.

Through 29 games, Heyward has hit .227/.315/.340 with two home runs and 14 RBIs.
The Cubs recalled infielder David Bote as well as pitchers Jen-Ho Tseng and Rob Zastryzny from Triple-A Iowa. The club optioned reliever Cory Mazzoni.
