Anibal Sanchez's leg was placed in an air cast and the pitcher was carted off the field prior to Wednesday's game due to a freak injury sustained while the pitcher was running during warmups.

The Braves later announced Sanchez would be placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain. Infielder Johan Camargo was subsequently activated from the DL onto the 25-man roster.

The 34-year-old has made two starts for the Atlanta Braves this season after working out of the bullpen to begin the campaign. Sanchez's next scheduled start would have been Thursday's game when the Braves host the New York Mets, but this injury will likely put that start into jeopardy.

Over 14 innings this year, Sanchez owns a 1.29 ERA and 3.48 FIP. Sanchez claimed the ERA title back in 2013 and finished fourth in American League Cy Young voting as a member of the Detroit Tigers.
