If what Yuli Gurriel says is true, the Toronto Blue Jays might have a real keeper in his brother Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

Ahead of Lourdes' major-league debut, in what turned out to be quite the first impression, Yuli touched on what to expect from his younger brother.

"Don't want to give him too much pressure, but he hits better than me, runs better than me and plays better than me defensively," he told Brian McTaggart of MLB.com.

Prior to defecting together from Cuba, the Gurriel brothers were two of the most highly regarded prospects outside of Major League Baseball. Yuli, now 33, was more seasoned, having played in the Cuban National Series for parts of 15 years (2001 to 2016), while Lourdes, who began his professional baseball career at age 16, played six seasons in the CNS.

Yuli went on to sign a five-year, $47.5-million contract with the Houston Astros in July 2016, with Lourdes agreeing to a seven-year, $22-million contract with the Blue Jays just under four months later.

"The entire family is happy," Yuli added. "My father is happy. We're seeing the fruits of the work that we put in all this time and we're very happy because of that."

The eldest Gurriel is coming off a solid campaign with the Astros, in which he hit .299/.332/.486 (118 wRC+) and a .344 wOBA in 139 games, winning a World Series along the way.

Lourdes, meanwhile, got the call from Double-A on Friday, becoming only the fourth player in Blue Jays history to record at least three RBIs in his MLB debut.
