Red Sox manager Alex Cora says Price 'should be fine'
The Boston Red Sox just might have avoided a significant loss to their starting rotation.
Following Wednesday's heated divisional matchup against the New York Yankees, manager Alex Cora gave a brief but important update on the status of David Price, who left the game after the first inning as a precaution after he felt a "sensation in his left hand".
"It seems like he should be fine, as of now," Cora said, according to Ian Browne of MLB.com. Price, who will undergo more tests, apparently tossed balls against the wall in the eighth inning and said he doesn't expect the injury to cost him time.
Outside of the blip that was Wednesday's first inning, Price has been terrific for the Red Sox this season, performing to a 2.40 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts.
