Giancarlo Stanton is making the wrong kind of history 10 games into his tenure with the New York Yankees.

After striking out five times in his Yankee Stadium debut April 3, the reigning 2017 National League MVP finished Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles 0-for-7 with another platinum sombrero. That makes him the first player in the live-ball era to go hitless with five strikeouts twice in a season, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

The outfielder entered 2018 having never struck out five times in a game throughout his entire career. Stanton was emphatically booed by the Yankees faithful Sunday, especially during his final at-bat. He struck out with two men on to end the game in the 12th inning.

The 28-year-old slugger is now hitting .167/.271/.429 with 20 strikeouts this season.
