The Kansas City Royals received some much-needed power from someone other than their big boppers for the first time this season.

Abraham Almonte hit a solo home run in the sixth inning in game two of a doubleheader with the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, becoming the first Royal not named Mike Moustakas or Lucas Duda to homer this season.

Prior to Almonte's homer, 11 Royals players had gone 377 at-bats to start the season without homering.

It's been a complete power outage for Kansas City this season as it entered the night cap sitting second-last in the majors, having hit just seven homers on the season. Moustakas leads the team with four, while Duda has gone deep three times.

Entering Tuesday's slate of games the Royals ranked last in the majors with just two different players having homered. The Marlins were second-last having only four different players homer. The Los Angeles Angels, Pittsburgh Pirates, and San Diego Padres lead all teams with 11 different players having homered.
