Royals' Boyer forced to take steering wheel after ice shatters bus windshield
Inclement weather has played havoc on MLB teams' games over the past few days, but it's now gone from simply raining on stadiums to causing damage to team transports.
On Sunday night, with the Kansas City Royals arriving in Toronto to face the Blue Jays, a huge chunk of ice flew off one team bus and shattered the windshield of the trailing bus.
Shards of glass struck the bus driver, forcing Royals reliever Blaine Boyer to take control of the wheel, according to Rustin Dodd of The Athletic.

However, the 36-year-old journeyman reliever downplayed his role in saving his teammates and the bus.
"That guy Fred was a trooper," Boyer told Dodd of the bus driver. "He had shards in his face, and he was locked in on trying to get the bus slowed down."

Despite coming to a city with a retractable roof, Monday's series opener between the Royals and Blue Jays has been postponed after falling ice punctured a hole in the Rogers Centre roof.
"If you come to a dome and get banged, something ain't right," Royals manager Ned Yost told Dodd.
Just 19 days into the season and Major League Baseball has already been forced to postpone 24 games, after freak storms battered the Midwest and East Coast.
