D-Backs' Souza out at least 'a couple weeks' with pectoral strain
The Arizona Diamondbacks will be without their newest outfield addition to start the season.
Manager Torey Lovullo announced Thursday that Steven Souza Jr. will miss "a couple of weeks, at least" after being diagnosed with a strained right pectoral muscle.
"We're going to give this injury time to define itself," Lovullo said, according to Nick Piecoro of azcentral Sports.
Souza Jr. suffered the injury during Wednesday's game while diving for a ball in the outfield. He was immediately removed and underwent an MRI.

Acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays in a trade last month, Souza Jr. was slated to be the club's Opening Day right fielder. With the injury, it's likely Yasmany Tomas or Jarrod Dyson will slide into one of the corner outfield spots.
