Turner appeared to be in considerable pain on the ground while he was examined by the Dodgers' training staff. He would eventually walk off the field and undergo X-rays.
Roberts suggested Logan Forsythe will fill in for Turner at third base, while Cody Bellinger is likely to take over batting third in the lineup.
"There's a lot of good baseball players in here," Turner said, via Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times. "I don't think we'll miss a beat."
The timetable for Turner's recovery will be clarified when he visits the doctor on Tuesday.
"Weeks are involved when you're talking about a fracture," Roberts stated.
The 33-year-old has developed into one of the Dodgers' best offensive players and is among the majors' premier third basemen. He was an All-Star for the first time last season and hit .322/.415/.530 with 21 home runs, 32 doubles, and 71 RBIs in 130 games.
