In an unsurprising move, left-hander Madison Bumgarner will get the Opening Day start for the San Francisco Giants when they play the Los Angeles Dodgers on March 29, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area.

The 28-year-old Giants ace, who will be making his fifth consecutive Opening Day start, will pitch opposite Clayton Kershaw.

Bumgarner only managed to make 17 starts for the last-place Giants a year ago after injuring his left shoulder in a dirt bike accident. He went 4-9 with a 3.32 ERA - his highest since 2012 - in 111 innings of work.

The four-time All-Star and frequent Cy Young candidate owns a 104-76 record in nine years with the Giants, including a 3.01 ERA and 1.10 WHIP.
