Report: Brewers sign veteran Miley to incentive-rich minor-league deal
The Milwaukee Brewers added to their starting pitching depth on Wednesday, agreeing to a minor-league contract with left-hander Wade Miley, USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports.
He'll receive an invitation to big-league spring training.
Miley's deal also guarantees him $2.5 million if he makes the majors and $5.7 million if he becomes a full-time starter and reaches 29 starts, Nightengale adds.
The 31-year-old veteran will compete for a spot in a Brewers rotation that could include Chase Anderson, Zach Davies, Jhoulys Chacin, and Yovani Gallardo. Ace Jimmy Nelson is recovering from shoulder surgery and isn't expected to be ready for Opening Day.
