Jason Wood - the baseball agent who was fired on Wednesday after reportedly being caught using a hidden camera to film some of his clients while they were showering in his home - has denied the allegations against him.

"The allegations that have surfaced today are absurd and untrue," Wood wrote in a text-message statement to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports. "Over the past 13 years I have worked tirelessly to build a successful agency through integrity and hard work. I am disappointed that there are those who have chosen to spread such irresponsible and harmful rumors."

Wood, who was fired by the CSE Talent agency on Wednesday in the wake of the allegations, has also been suspended by the Major League Baseball Players Association as it looks into the incident.

According to the original report, an unidentified player found a camera while taking a shower at the agent's home, and immediately fired Wood as his representative. Other players who were formerly represented by Wood are apparently following suit, resulting in a "feeding frenzy" among agents trying to recruit his former clients, ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reported Wednesday.

"Everyone is jumping ship," an unidentified agent told Robert Murray of FanRag Sports. "Everyone was blindsided."

Notable former clients of Wood's include Boston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi and Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Jake Odorizzi. Benintendi was not involved in the allegations against Wood, according to a source of Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston.
