Report: Mets recently spoke with Bruce's agent
A reunion between the New York Mets and Jay Bruce remains a possibility as the club recently met with the slugger's agent, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.
It was reported last week that the free agent was offered two separate, multi-year contracts and he was expected to receive another. Bruce was reportedly seeking a five-year deal worth anywhere from $80 million to $90 million.

The Colorado Rockies, Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays, and Bruce's most recent team, the Cleveland Indians, are among the club's to show interest in the 30-year-old.
Bruce put together a fine season in 2017, hitting .254/.324/.508 (118 wRC+) across 146 games with the Mets and Indians. He was particularly effective in the postseason with Cleveland, slashing .278/.333/.667 with two home runs in five ALDS games.
