He hasn't even played a game for the Miami Marlins, and infielder Starlin Castro already wants out of south Florida.

Acquired in a December trade that sent star outfielder Giancarlo Stanton to the New York Yankees, Castro wants to be traded again, sources told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Castro apparently isn't interested in another rebuild, which is the path being pursued by the Marlins after the exoduses of Stanton, Marcell Ozuna, and Dee Gordon this offseason.

He joins the growing chorus of discontent among Marlins players regarding the direction of the team. Outfielder Christian Yelich and catcher J.T. Realmuto have expressed disappointment, and the latter requested a trade of his own in mid-December.

Castro primarily played second base in his two-season tenure with the Yankees, but was a full-time shortstop for most of his time with the Chicago Cubs. In 2017, his fourth All-Star season, he hit .300/.338/.454 with 16 home runs in 112 games. He is set to earn $10 million in 2018 and $11 million in 2019 with a $16-million team option for 2020.
