There will be no change of scenery for the big man.

The New York Yankees agreed to a one-year deal worth $10 million with left-handed starting pitcher CC Sabathia pending a physical, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.

Sabathia has spent the last nine seasons as a fixture of the Yankees' rotation, joining the team before the 2009 campaign after a split season between the Cleveland Indians and Milwaukee Brewers.

In pinstripes, Sabathia has been a workhorse. He's gone 120-73 with a 3.75 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 12 complete games, and 1,453 strikeouts over 1,657 2/3 innings. Now he'll get to reach a decade in the Bronx.

There were indications of a market outside of New York for the 37-year-old veteran. The Toronto Blue Jays had reportedly met with Sabathia during the winter meetings. While he might have been tempted to sign elsewhere, Sabathia believes a championship is in the team's near future.

"CC feels there's unfinished business to attend to. There were competitive offers that CC was weighing, but in the end, CC wanted to come back and win a championship with the Yankees," Sabathia's agent, Kyle Thousand, told MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.

In what looked like it might have been his last season with the Yankees, Sabathia tapped into some of his reserves. While his 148 2/3 innings was the second fewest of his career, he went 14-5 over 27 starts, posting a 3.69 ERA and 1.27 WHIP.

Sabathia slots in as the Yankees' current fourth starter behind Masahiro Tanaka, Luis Severino, and Sonny Gray, with fellow southpaw Jordan Montgomery helping solidify the back end of the rotation - for now. The Yankees have been busy, so the moves may not be finished just yet.
