Rule 5 Draft: Tigers select Victor Reyes, Astros nab Gose as a pitcher
The Detroit Tigers selected outfielder Victor Reyes with the first pick in the Rule 5 Draft on Thursday.
Reyes, 23, appeared in 126 games for the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2017, hitting .292/.332/.399 with 29 doubles, 51 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases.
The Venezuelan was Arizona's No. 18 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
Also of note, the Houston Astros selected former big-league outfielder Anthony Gose as a pitcher from the Texas Rangers. Gose began the process of converting from the outfield to pitching last season.
