The Los Angeles Angels big offseason rolls on.

Having already extended Justin Upton and signed intentional free agent Shohei Ohtani, the Angels made another splash Wednesday, landing second baseman Ian Kinsler from the Detroit Tigers for prospects Wilkel Hernandez and Troy Montgomery, the team announced.

Montgomery was ranked the Angels' 20th-best prospect, with Hernandez slotted in as 24th-best, per MLB Pipeline.

Kinsler had to waive his no-trade clause in order to accept a deal as the Angels are on his 10-team list. The addition brings some much-needed help to an Angels team that used four players at second base last season - with none posting an OPS over .700.

The 35-year-old is coming off a down season in which he slashed .236/.313/.412, but still hit 22 home runs, 25 doubles, and stole 14 bases in 139 games. He's hit 50 homers across the last two seasons and won a Gold Glove in 2016.

Kinsler, who is owed $11 million next season before hitting free agency, returns to the AL West after spending his first eight years there with the Texas Rangers.
