Report: Royals considering trading Duffy
Before the 2017 season, Danny Duffy signed a five-year, $65-million extension to stay with the Kansas City Royals through 2021. Now, he might be on the move.
Duffy is reportedly "extremely popular" on the trade market, prompting the team to consider a possible trade for the lefty, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.
The 28-year-old Duffy is coming off a pair of solid seasons with the Royals in which he's combined for a 21-13 record with a 3.64 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 318 strikeouts over 326 innings. He underwent elbow surgery in October, but is expected to be ready for spring training.
After splitting time between the rotation and the bullpen over the previous three campaigns, Duffy was used exclusively as a starter last season.
Duffy, for one, may not be keen on leaving town.

Not all his headlines were baseball-related in 2017. In August, while on the disabled list with an elbow impingement, Duffy was cited for a DUI after reportedly passing out in a Burger King drive-thru. He later apologized for being a distraction.
