It's been 19 days since the World Series ended and free agency opened, and not a single major-league deal has been signed yet.

That could change soon, though, as 30-year-old right-hander Alex Cobb, who has already drawn reported interest from the Chicago Cubs, Baltimore Orioles, and Texas Rangers, is now being connected to the New York Yankees, reports Peter Gammons of GammonsDaily.com.

The "industry consensus," per Gammons, is that Cobb will either go to the Cubs - whom Cobb said he'd be "honored" to sign with more than a week ago - or the Yankees - who are in need of starting pitching.

Cobb started 29 games for the Tampa Bay Rays last season, tossing 179 1/3 innings and posting a 3.66 ERA in his first full season since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2015.

He already turned down the Rays' $17.4-million qualifying offer.
