Yuli Gurriel made his first appearance against Yu Darvish since being handed a five-game suspension for a racist gesture made toward the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher. During the first inning of Game 7, the Houston Astros first baseman apologized by tipping his cap.
Gurriel made a racially insensitive gesture in the dugout in Game 3 after hitting a home run off of Darvish. The first baseman's suspension will begin at the start of the 2018 regular season.
