Judge ties record for most Ks in single postseason

A record-breaking rookie season has turned into a historic postseason for Aaron Judge, as the New York Yankees outfielder tied the record for most strikeouts in a single postseason.

Judge struck out for the 26th time of the postseason during Game 6 of the American League Championship Series against the Houston Astros when Justin Verlander set the 25-year-old rookie down in the sixth inning.

Judge's 26th strikeout tied the record set back in 2003 by Alfonso Soriano. The former Yankees second baseman was set down on strikes 26 times in 75 plate appearances. Meanwhile, Judge required 52 plate appearances to tie the record.

En route to hitting 52 homers in the regular season, Judge set the single-season rookie home run record, previously held by Mark McGwire who hit 49 back in 1987.

At this point, Judge's AL Rookie of the Year award is a foregone conclusion, although the slugger poses a legitimate threat, alongside ALCS rival Jose Altuve, to contend for MVP.
