Ticket prices for Dodger Stadium World Series games go through the roof
If you want to go to the 2017 World Series, get ready to pay through the teeth.
Ticket prices for games being hosted by the Los Angeles Dodgers are already through the roof, ESPN's Darren Rovell reports. The average asking price per ticket, according to ticket tracker TicketIQ, is $3,164, with the cheapest available going for $888 on Friday afternoon, before additional fees.
One reseller, GameTime, reported the opening game of the World Series had broken their single-event revenue record.
"And that's before there's confirmation of them playing the Yankees," GameTime spokesman Sean Pate told Rovell.
The New York Yankees could join the Dodgers in the World Series as soon as Friday night with a victory over the Houston Astros.
Last season's series between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians apparently featured an average sale price of $2,100. The highest prior to that over the last decade was only $950 in 2007 when the Boston Red Sox swept the Colorado Rockies.
