Thanks to a three-run, walk-off dinger courtesy of Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner, the club now heads to Chicago with a commanding 2-0 series lead, only two wins short of the World Series.
As expected, Twitter went into an absolute frenzy immediately following Turner's 416-foot blast.
Unfortunately for Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon, the decision to use starter John Lackey out of the bullpen instead of closer Wade Davis came back to bite him. Entering the game, Lackey - who also pitched in Game 1 on Saturday - had never appeared in games on back-to-back days.
Of course, Twitter was there to deliver collective blows to Maddon and Lackey.
That stings.
