New York Post photographer Anthony J. Causi was spared from a life of taunts and jeers Friday night.
With two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning in Game 2 of the ALDS, New York Yankees reliever Aroldis Chapman sailed a throw to first base wide of the mark. The ball bounced toward Causi, who reached out to seemingly block it from hitting him in the face.
After review, Cleveland Indians outfielder Austin Jackson was awarded second base. Fortunately for the Yankees - and Causi - the Indians failed to convert and the game was extended deeper into extra innings. The photographer was very close to becoming the Yankees' answer to Steve Bartman.
