Reds to install additional safety netting after child struck at Yankee Stadium
The Cincinnati Reds announced Thursday the club will extend the safety netting at Great American Ball Park from home plate to the ends of each dugout along the lines behind first and third base.
Cincinnati is also replacing the current netting behind home plate.
The announcement by the Reds comes a day after a child was struck by a foul ball off the bat of Yankees infielder Todd Frazier in New York. Play was suspended for several minutes while the young fan received medical treatment, and members of both the Yankees and Minnesota Twins called for expanded netting postgame to shield the fans sitting in those sections.

On Thursday, the two-year-old child's father revealed that his daughter was "doing all right" after the incident.
The Reds plan to have the new netting installed for Opening Day in 2018, when they host the Washington Nationals.
