Angels say Upton's HR doesn't count for $1-million promotion

A home run off the bat of Los Angeles Angels outfielder Justin Upton appeared to have secured $1 million for the Angels Baseball Foundation on Tuesday, but that no longer looks to be the case.

Upton's home run against the Cleveland Indians landed over the left-center field fence at Angel Stadium and bounced into an oversized Sherwin-Williams paint can that was being used as part of a promotion to raise money for the foundation.

The promotion stated that if an Angels player hit a home run into the can, the paint company would donate $1 million to the foundation. Because Upton's home run bounced in, though, the Angels said it didn't count and no money would be donated.

L.A.'s announcement immediately became a point of controversy on Twitter.
