Watch: Rays honor Maddon with video tribute in return to the Trop

Tampa Bay still loves them some Joe Maddon.

The Chicago Cubs manager made his first trip back to Tropicana Field as a visiting skipper Tuesday night, and the Tampa Bay Rays made sure to recognize Maddon for his work with their franchise. At the end of the first inning, the Rays played a video tribute for the 63-year-old that was followed by a lengthy standing ovation from the home crowd. Maddon came out of the Cubs' dugout to wave to the crowd and doff his cap in appreciation.

Maddon posted a 754-705 record over his nine seasons managing the Rays franchise from 2006 - when they were still known as the Devil Rays - through 2014. He led Tampa Bay to four playoff appearances over that span, including its lone World Series appearance in 2008, and was twice named AL Manager of the Year.
