Not only were the Detroit Tigers involved in a benches-clearing brawl Thursday with the New York Yankees, but tensions were running high in the Tigers' dugout, as well.

Justin Verlander and Nicholas Castellanos appeared agitated with Tigers teammate Victor Martinez for playing peacemaker with several Yankees after New York reliever Dellin Betances plunked Tigers catcher James McCann in the head with a pitch.

An inning after a benches-clearing brawl was sparked by Miguel Cabrera in the sixth, Betances hit McCann in the head with a 98-mph fastball. Martinez went to the mound to talk with Betances and Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez after the beaning, while other members of the Tigers and Yankees were pushing and shoving.

When the teams returned to their dugouts, Martinez was spotted exchanging words with both Verlander and Castellanos.
