Watch: Granderson snaps Verlander's no-no with HR in 1st hit with Dodgers

Curtis Granderson collected his first hit as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers and it was a timely one.

Heading into the plate appearance against Granderson, Justin Verlander was carrying a no-hitter into the sixth inning. Through 5 2/3 frames of no-hit baseball, Granderson ended Verlander's shot at a complete-game shutout with the solo blast as well.

Granderson, who was featuring in his second game with the Dodgers, played the first six seasons of his career with the Detroit Tigers, posting his first full season during Verlander's American League Rookie of the Year campaign.
