Prior to Sunday's contest against the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox paid tribute to NESN broadcaster Jerry Remy, who was working his 30th season in the booth before having to step away earlier this year due to lung cancer.

Remy, who will begin chemotherapy sessions Tuesday, according to the Boston Globe's Pete Abraham, thanked the fans in attendance after making his way out to a standing ovation, before telling the fans he fully expected to return to call Opening Day next season.

"I am fully confident I will be back in that booth for Opening Day next year, when the Red Sox lift another pennant," Remy said, according to Chris Villani of the Boston Herald.
