Watch: Gennett ties Reds record with 3rd grand slam of season

Dale Zanine / USA TODAY Sports

Just as we all predicted.

Scooter Gennett - the same one that was claimed off waivers just before Opening Day - has now tied the Cincinnati Reds' record for grand slams in a season after hitting his third of the year Saturday.

The 27-year-old second baseman entered the 2017 campaign with a .738 career OPS over four seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers. Gennett has flourished with the Reds, though, as he owns a .292/.342/.536 slash line including 21 homers over 107 games this year.

One more grand slam and the record is Gennett's. Finally, something for Reds fans to root for down the stretch.
