One of Hollywood's biggest power couples may have snapped New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez out of his slump.

Sanchez sat down for lunch with Alex Rodriguez and his girlfriend Jennifer Lopez on Friday and discussed how the struggling catcher could return to the form that made him the runner-up for the American League Rookie of the Year last season.

"We talked about pretty much everything," Sanchez told Pete Caldera of USA TODAY Sports. "Everything that comes from him, it's positive. We talked a little bit about defense, creating a routine, following your routine, preparing for games."

Sanchez added: "(It was) positive advice, positive thinking. She's a superstar at what she does, a great singer and actress and Alex is a superstar in baseball. Any advice coming from them, I'll listen to them."

Sanchez had gone 4-for-20 with 10 strikeouts in the six games prior to the lunch, while also struggling defensively. The 24-year-old has responded by going 8-for-17 with three homers, one double, six RBIs and five strikeouts in the five games since.

"I just think he's in a really good spot," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said, according to Mike Mazzeo of the New York Daily News. "I think his approach has been good, and he's not missing his pitch."
