Watch: Gallo mashes to upper deck for 34th HR of season

Tim Heitman / USA TODAY Sports

Joey Gallo went to the ballpark to chew bubblegum and hit dingers. He just didn't wait until he was out of bubblegum to go deep off Detroit Tigers starter Justin Verlander.

The Texas Rangers' third baseman blew a giant bubble as he trotted the bases after crushing an even more impressive 459-foot bomb into Globe Life Park's upper deck. It was his seventh home run to go 450 feet or further this season.

Gallo may be barely hitting .200 - while striking out in nearly 40 per cent of his at-bats - but when he gets a hold of one, it tends to travel a long distance.
