Playoff percentages: Rangers, Cardinals not out of it yet
Through the remainder of the regular season, we'll take a look at how the night's action impacted the playoff races, highlighting which teams' postseason odds went up or down significantly.
The postseason isn't completely out of reach for the Texas Rangers or St. Louis Cardinals just yet.
Both teams are still alive in the playoff race and in the midst of modest winning streaks - Texas has won three in a row, St. Louis two in a row - that couldn't have come at a more opportune time.
The Rangers and Cardinals have managed to avoid elimination and gain ground thanks to the suddenly scuffling Minnesota Twins and Los Angeles Angels in the AL, and Colorado Rockies in the NL.
With just over a week left in the regular season, it looks like things will go down to the wire, and quite honestly, the more the merrier, as fans can look forward to incredibly exciting finishes.
