Series of defensive moves lands Blue Jays' Donaldson at SS
When Josh Donaldson was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2007 it was as a catcher, but he never ended up playing a game in the team's uniform and eventually transitioned into a third baseman.
On Friday, during his Wrigley Field debut, Donaldson ended up in a completely different and unfamiliar position.
During a series of defensive changes by the Toronto Blue Jays in the seventh inning against the Cubs, the 2015 American League MVP, who began the game at third base, wound up playing shortstop.
Carrera at right, Bautista at third, Donaldson at shortstop. Goins at second. That's new.

The appearance at shortstop was just the second time Donaldson had done so during his big-league career. The only other time he played the position came in 2013 for the Oakland Athletics.
