Report: Dodgers showing strong interest in Darvish

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

Yu Darvish and Clayton Kershaw? That'll do.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are among multiple teams showing strong interest in the Texas Rangers ace, sources told Jon Morosi of MLB Network. Trade discussions are said to be in the early stages.

The Dodgers were linked to Darvish as recently as Friday, when it was reported that the club scouted the 30-year-old's stellar 12-strikeout performance against the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs have also scouted Darvish of late.

Despite boasting the league's most prolific starting rotation, the Dodgers appear willing to add yet another quality arm. Entering Sunday, the club's starters have performed to a league-leading 3.33 ERA, 3.52 FIP, and 12.1 WAR.

In 21 starts this year, Darvish has a 3.44 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 143 strikeouts. The right-hander is slated to become a free agent at season's end.
