Astros' Moran suffers fracture, concussion after fouling ball off face
Houston Astros third baseman Colin Moran was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday with a facial fracture and concussion suffered Saturday when a foul ball off his bat caught him under his left eye.
Moran, who was appearing in his second game this season and just the 11th of his major-league career, was in noticeable pain and had to be carted off the field.
"Originally he wanted to get off the field," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said Saturday, according to Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle. "As soon as we got him up he thought he was going to pass out. He kind of got nauseous. So we put him back down and called for the cart. He was clearly out of it, obviously, and in some pain. Just a terrible way to go out of the game."
